Walking through Tokyo at night is just the best feeling you can take from this city. Those neons illuminate all the streets and give this impression that is still day time. Everybody is rushing around and doesn’t take the time to look up and enjoy this festival of lights (what a shame) !

Obviously I had to write about the Vogue Fashion Night Out of Tokyo ! I expected a small event with some shops open late in the evening but It was not like that at all ! Indeed, a fashion designer was giving a speech on the stage in front of hundreds of people in a big mall (Omotesando Hills in Harajuku). People were super well dressed with suits/dresses and high heels (it looked like it was the fashion event of the year). In each store we got gifts like pins, facial masks and makeup (Dior) whereas some others were giving free cocktails. My friends and I even got a fake tattoo with « guilty of being me » written on our arms (I guess this sentence perfectly sum up the situation ahah).
It was just the best Vogue Fashion Night Out I’ve never been ! Last year I was in Paris when this event happened but it’s nothing to compare with that in Tokyo.//
Bien évidemment je me devais d’écrire un article sur la Vogue Fashion Night Out de Tokyo ! Je m’attendais à un tout petit événement mais en fait ce n’était pas du tout ça ! En effet, un créateur a fait un discours sur la scène devant des centaines de personnes dans un grand magasin (Omotesando Hills dans le quartier d’Harajuku). Les gens étaient très bien apprêtés soit en costume pour les hommes soit en robe – talons pour les femmes (on aurait dit que c’était l’évènement mode de l’année). Dans chaque boutique, on a eu le droit à des petits cadeaux comme des pins, des masques pour le visage et du maquillage (Dior), tandis que d’autres donnaient des cocktails gratuitement. Avec mes copines, on a même eu un tatouage éphémère avec écrit « coupable d’être moi » sur nos bras (Je crois que cette phrase résume bien la situation ahah).
C’était franchement la meilleure Vogue Fashion Night Out que je n’ai jamais faite ! L’année dernière, j’ai eu l’occasion d’aller à celle de Paris mais ce n’était rien comparé à celle de Tokyo .

Ok guys, let’s talk about something really important when you travel : Food ! First of all before going to Japan I had some stereotypes as Japanese food = sushis (ridiculous french). Then I arrived and I didn’t see any sushi anywhere ! In fact, they use to eat them during specific occasions. Fortunately (for me), there are some sushi’s restaurants in town ! Less known but also super good, I am talking about those Japanese pizzas called okonomiyaki. I tried one with squids, it was so delicious !
Here, food is really different from what we use to have in France. I was so surprised when I bumped into dry fishes in plastic bags in the supermarket or those shelves full of cup noodles. They also make everything with matcha such as biscuits, chocolate, ice cream, bread… and of course tea ! //
Ok, parlons de quelque chose de vraiment important quand on voyage : la nourriture ! Premièrement, avant d’arriver au Japon, j’avais ces stéréotypes comme quoi la cuisine japonaise = sushis (ridicule). Et finalement, quand je suis arrivée, je n’ai vu aucun sushi nulle part puisque les japonais mangent ce plat seulement lors d’occasions particulières. Heureusement (pour moi), j’ai quand même pu trouver des restaurants de sushis en ville. Moins connues mais toutes aussi bonnes, je parle bien sûr des pizzas japonaises faites à base d’oeufs, et qui se nomment okonomiyaki. J’en ai gouté une avec des calamars, c’était délicieux !
Ici, la nourriture est très différente de ce qu’on a l’habitude de manger en France. J’étais extrêmement surprise quand je suis tombée nez à nez avec des poissons séchés dans des sacs en plastique dans un supermarché ou encore quand j’ai vu ces rayons remplis de nouilles en pot. Ils font également tout avec le matcha comme des gâteaux, du chocolat, de la glace, du pain… et bien sûr il est présent dans tous les salons de thé !
